I think this is a good question, but I have not found much about it. Really appreciate if somebody knows about this.
I am filing I-485/130 for my wife. We live in Dallas with a waiting time of 1 year for the interview at the Dallas Field office. I noticed that the Houston and San Antonio offices are on a six month waiting at the moment, which is better. When I file the paper work at the Chicago Office, do you think I can ask them to send my case to the Houston or San Antonio office, instead of my home location in Dallas? There is a part 22 in form I-130 that asks about the interview location. It makes me think that I can specify a place different than my main mailing address. Has anyone thought about this?
We have relatives in Houston and San Antonio and there won't be much extra cost for us to stay there for the night of the interview.
