i-485 application was filed 4 years after asylum was approved.

hello, i was granted asylum on august 2011 and was supposed to file for I485 a year after; however for personal reasons, mostly financial; i could not file up until august 2015.
so far all i've gotten nothing after my biometrics appt. and when i emailed them, i got a response stating they have had to perform additional review and that is why is delayed.
is there any way the time i waited to file is intervening with the process.
