I was just approved for my green card on Friday! I have been a visitor to this forum throughout the past 6+ months, while processing my I-485/I-765/I-130. This forum has been a great resource to me so I figured I would post my experience to help others.
My wife and I were married in August and we applied soon after, with a priority date of 8/21/2015. We initially applied while living in Virginia, but have since moved to Orlando, Florida. I walked in for biometrics in the Alexandria, VA office on 9/12/2015. EAD card ordered 10/23/15. I-765 approved 10/26/15. Mailed on 10/28/2015. I received the EAD card a few days after it was mailed (2 or 3 days after).
I had radio silence from then for a while. We moved to Orlando Florida and I updated the address online. I got notification via text message on 2/11/16 that my case was scheduled for an interview. I never got any "case ready to be scheduled" notification before or anything like that.
My wife and I's interview was scheduled for 03/17/2016 at the Orlando Field Office. We were in and out within 1 hour. The interview was very straight forward... No unusual questions. Just went over the application, asked the set of questions where all the answers are "no" and then briefly asked about our marriage, how we met, ect.. Nothing tricky. I think it helped that my wife gave birth to our son in December, so we have a child in common. We brought our son and his birth certificate to the interview. The interview itself only lasted 10-15 minutes. She did not give us a decision on the spot but talked as though we were approved.
The next day I got a notification online stating that the card was ordered. Then the following day I got a notification that the case was approved (odd that it seemed out of order). From end to end, the process took about 7 months.
