Divorce before Green card approval

What will happen if getting divorce before green card approval? I came from Australia last october. I have my EAD card and Advance parole. Case status waiting for scheduled interview.

I don't know for sure but my guess is that if you are no longer married to a USC at the time of your GC interview, you have a very very slim chance of being approved. There may be extenuating circumstances if you can prove your partner was abusing you or something similar, but if the marriage just did not work out then I don't think they will approve you.

I suggest you get some legal advice personally. Many factors in supplying an I-751 waiver that you may or may not be able to utilise. Research a few areas of the web as there may be people with your scenario willing to offer their advice and experience.

@whodadaddy - My understanding is that I-751 is to remove conditional status after a GC has been granted. It sounds like jane85 has not been granted her conditional GC yet.

@jane85 - Definitely talk to a lawyer to get all your options.
