We filed the wife's paperwork in her maiden name. We got her EAD in the mail the other day. We are going very soon to get her SSN. My question is when should we change her name? We have our AOS interview coming up at the end of the month and would like to have it done for that. It was always her intention to take my name but we made a mistake when filing and used her name. So should we apply when we get her SSN or should we wait until after we get her green card? A bit confused and don't want to make another misstep.

I was hoping you could share your experience and if you guys were able to correct/change her last name. When we filed, we didn't know this and even when we checked the box on out marriage licence that says that I was going to take his last name after married, we filed all the forms with my maiden name because that's how it appears on my passport of course.
I am waiting for my EAD (it says "Its being produced) and I am also still waiting for them to schedule my interview.
We are very concerned about this because I want to take my husband's last name.
Please advice!
