When to file i485

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences... I have file i130 for my spouse and I am a LPR.. My wife is here in tourist visa... My question is can I file the i485 after the i130 is approved or do I have to wait for PD to be current... Thanks

there are 2 tables now (one for filing and one for action), take a look at the table B under family category

B. DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED VISA APPLICATIONS

For April 2016 bulletin, it is F2A: 15JUN15. So once your PD is earlier than this date, you can file I485, I131, I765 etc.

While, you will be issued EAD/w AP, GC will not be issued until your PD is current on Table A.

For April 2016 bulletin, it is F2A: 22OCT14

Thanks guys.... Does this mean that my PD of Jan 2016 I won't get an approved i130 before the PD is current? My i130 is at California service center and they said it would be process within 5 months... I am confused

I-130 will get approved but you need to wait after that to file I-485 until PD filing date (table B) is current.

No. What chart is used to determine whether you can file AOS is decided by USCIS. Each month they pick one of the two charts (Final Action Date or Date for Filing) for determining which dates can file AOS. For April and May 2017, it's Final Action Date for all categories, and for F2A, the Final Action Date is June / July 2015 for April / May 2017 visa bulletins, respectively. It will probably remain on Final Action Date until the next fiscal year starts in October, when it will probably switch back to Date for Filing. So you probably cannot file AOS until October.
