  • Question about interview date and field office processing delay/timeline

    Hi,

I am LPR and filed GC: F2A for my spouse with PD 01/26/2015. I-130 is approved, since the Oct visa bulletin had a filing date where PD is current, we filed I-485, I-765, I-131 etc.

    12/04/2015: Filed I-485, I-765, I-131 etc
    01/xx/2016: Bio appt received/completed
    02/23/2016: EAD/AP approved
    02/27/2016: EAD w AP received

My question is regarding what are the next steps. For May Bulletin, F2A is 01Nov15, which means the PD is not current yet.

    1. Will Interview only get scheduled once PD is current?
    2. Once PD is current, how far out is the interview scheduled? Is it related to the Field Office delay?
View case status online using your receipt number, which can be found on notices that you may have received from USCIS. Also, sign up for Case Status Online to: . Receive automatic case status updates by email or text message, . View your case history and upcoming case activities, . Check the status of multiple cases and inquiries that you may have submitted to USCIS

FO: LA County shows I-485 date August 31, 2015 (as of February 29, 2016).
Can someone explain what this means? Does this mean, once her PD is currently (Let's say in Aug 2016), that the interview may not get scheduled until Feb 2017?
    3. How is the field office assigned? Is it strictly based on where you live? Is there a way to check/verify my field office?
    4. Also, when we PD filing date became current, in Oct 15, we got a letter from NVC with next steps, case # and they were talking about consular processing in South Korea. We did not respond to this letter and I just realized couple of days ago, we should have contacted them and informed them that we will be adjusting status via I-485. I sent them email couple of days ago to inform them. Not sure if this is an issue or of any consequence, since we did get EAD/AP since then.

Thanks in advance for your help
