  • Waiving The Green Card Interview

I am just curious to know... who is more likely to be waived the G.C interview?

I got a notice from the USCIS asking me about my form I-693, but under it all they said something like "do not send your form I-693 until you get another notice from the USCIS. If you are required an interview, you will be asked to bring form I-693, if you are not required an interview, you will be directed where to send form I-693". - my medical appointment regarding this form is next week anyway and I know it's good for a whole year.

Also, been told that if I get called in for an interview, I will get my C.G faster... is it true?

Who else is in the same situation as me? Please share your experience.

Usually those couples who are adjusting after the K1 visa process have interviews waived as they would have been interviewed once already before entering the country. That's not to say all K1's are not interviewed mind!

I would be very surprised if any other category had an interview waiver.
As for what you have been told again that depends. There are lots of examples whereby GC's have been received relatively quickly for K1 visa holders. Some however can get stuck in the process even after receiving such a correspondence.

Oh I see. In my case, I will definitely get called in for the interview even though I was interviewed before entering the country... except that I came on a tourist visa so I guess it doesn't count. Lol.

I have NEVER heard of anyone having an interview waver, seriously. The U.S government is very picky. I've been trying to adjust my status since August of 2015. Right now I'm waiting for them to call me in for the interview... gotta get my medical examination done soon!

      Thanks for your reply, WhoDaDaddy.
