Anyone know how long interviews are taking to be scheduled in LA? In the Valley here... been looking around and it seems quite sporadic, ranging from a date set within 1 month of getting the notice once it is being scheduled.... to 6+ months. Why the crazy difference?

We just got a notice 2 days ago that ours is in the process of being scheduled and I am wondering how long to expect to wait.

Also, we are at the 88 day mark for no response on the I-785 EAD. I just submitted a request to check on it and it says not to expect a reply for 20 days. Is everything just backed up in LA?

My Priority date is April 25th and my I130 still says "we received your Form I-130 Immigrant Petition for Relative". It has not changed to "ready to be scheduled for an interview". However on July 28, it says it was updated. But it says the same thing as before. so idk. Here I attached a picture showing it was updated. The I485 has the the last actual update (initial website received notices). I-765 however has been updated.

On a funny note, the EAD has been updated 3 times. From card approved to card being ordered to card approved again & then Ordered again. Now it reads "Card Was Mailed To Me".

About the your EAD. Since you called them they probably made a request for a decision on your case (EAD). Go online to USCIS and under I765 check for case History. Should tell you what is going on with your request.

Received EAD card today

I got my card today, it was send priority mail with a tracking number. The USCIS website however, did not update me (under my case number) with any information regarding the tracking of the EAD card. There was a tracking number provided by usps in the letter the card was attached on.

My Interview Review & Decision April filer

So que pasa amigos! My interview was scheduled at 300N In Los Angeles, CA.

My interview was at 10:30. I arrived at 9:45 took 15m to enter the building because there was a pretty big line to get in the Federal building. They made me take of my belt & shoes in the scanning process. We walked into a waiting room and there, we checked in around 10:15. We were there at 10:05am but they ask you not to check in till 15m prior to your initial interview appointment time.

Over one hour n a half later (12:10Pm) they called us finally!! The lady was nice and kept it business besides a few jokes & laughs about kids and family that we shared while we spoke of details about us.

So first they ask you to stand on specific places, I was on the left by the flag/wall and my wife was on my right. Second they as you to raise your hand and swear that all that will be said is true and correct.

After they ask you to sit and hand over your drivers license. At this point you pretty much will be asked to hand over information like ssn, passports, visa or legal papers pertaining to legal entry into the country.

They will continue to simply ask questions about your paper work and literally doing a check list of all papers.
Some questions that are asked are, birth dates of family members, how you met and when you started dating. NOTE: be careful to remember these details because they might ask you a few times in the interview. Things like, date of births. They will keep asking you.

When you last arrived to the country and when you got married all standard questions you should know.

Some other questions that we were asked were, where you work and what you do. They also are very strict on IRS TAXES. You HAVE TO HAVE JOINT FILED TAXES!! I did'nt have that and they gave me a hard time, luckily I have two kids. They also ask for bills to the address both jointly or separate, but as long as they are in your names to your address. They did ask me for pictures and they kept my pictures!!! So like me, make sure you bring digital copies.
You should have joint health insurance and basically a bunch of paper work in your names to your address!

Make sure you bring copies to EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING!!! you show them. Rent contracts, car leases etc. BRING COPIES OR GIVE THEM THE ORIGINALS.

They will send you out to make copies and make you wait in the lobby till they call you back inside. Make sure you have proper copies, they do not make copies for you!!!



My final decision was.......Continued... :-(

The stupid place that helped me file the petition failed to write down my Alien number (from my mothers petition from 1995, I already had an "A" #). So I was issued a new Alien number. When the officer noticed this issue she said that, they will have to merge the numbers because you can't have two Alien numbers. I told the immigration help center to put down my Alien number from my old case and they said, "you don't need to". Idiots!! Now I have to wait for them to sort it out. Other than that though the officer said I was good! So ill update with the final result!! Thanks for reading!!
