  • Fingerprints didnt match with FBI -USCIS asking for Police verification from India

Help needed! I have filed by my parents Green Card from US. Their Biometrics aptmt didn't result in FBI records as fingerprints have eroded over time. They are not asking for Police verification from India. Anyone has any experience in how to follow the police verification process from here in US? this is their last step as other documentation is in place.

    Would appreciate urgent response. thanks!

I read on immihelp that in such circumstances police clearance certificate is required only from within u.s.a. resediatial places and not from India.

thanks. I am trying locally here. But the USCIS office mentioned that a document from India was needed. Would anyone have a format for it or aware of the process to get one from India?

I think , if the applicant is present in u.s.a. then how police clearance from India is possible.
I think, for getting police clearance the applicant has to be physical present in India .
may be indian embassy in u.s.a can help in getting the same. pleaswe try and contact embassy.

It was very easy. We went to the local police station of our town.
Took my mother's passport, and electricity bill (which is my name).
The police station gave a letter on their letterh3ead saying that there are no records of arrest for the person named.

My mother's fingerprints were rejected too. They are now asking for police verification from India.
We got a Police Clearance Letter from the Indian Consulate. Says that there are no adverse records which would prevent her from travel or obtaining visa etc.
This is based on her passport. Will this work?

The other two options are: Get a police clearance from Local Police Station in India OR from Regional Passport Office.

Please advise what would be acceptable to USCIS?

                    Local police station in USA.

If you find out whether "No criminal record received from Indian Consulate is enough", will you please post a reply here and let me know please.

                    Thanks

i read somewhere in immihelp that police clearance report from consulate is sufficient. Report from police station in India seems to be impossible unless the applicant is physically present in India.
i read somewhere that ,no need to obtain from local police station in india.
but so far not heard any practical experience from some body.
hope if some one please share practical experience.

                        Finger prints rejected

                        Hi,

I'm eager to know your parents case. how did you resolve the issue?
Please help. I'm sailing the same boat except for the fact that it's my finger print that got rejected. I have weak finger prints for God known reasons.

                        Thanks,
                        Praveena
