    2/08/2016: Check cashed
    2/13/2016: Received bio-metrics appointment
    2/29/2016: Bio-metrics appointment

it will say on the notice "Failure to appear to the interview may end up on denial of the case"
I think all interviews are mandatory, specially if you are adjusting your status through Marriage.

Only those entering via the K1 visa potentially have their interviews waived from what I have seen abd even then done are interviewed so not a blanket waiver given. As for any other visa type adjusting via marriage I am yet to hear of anyone obtaining a GC without an interview.
If it's marriage based both of you will of course need to attend! As stated if you font they can deem it you are abandoning your application and the case will be denied.
