Quick question: I am awaiting for my green card interview (marriage) and have received my EAD. My wife and I would like to take a trip to Big Bend National Park in July. I have no intention of leaving the country, but I'm afraid of immigration giving me a hard time at one of the inner checkpoints on our way out. Is it ok to take this trip?

I'm on H1B but it expires at the end of June.

I would get a State ID.

Your EAD will suffice at any checkpoint that is not a Port of Entry (i.e. border check, airport/seaport).
It would not hurt to get an State ID.

Just do not cross into Canada, because it would amount to abandon your AOS...
