I never applied for advanced parole when I first submited I-485/I-130 and I am regretting it. This wait is seeming too long to not be able to go and visit my family. I was planning on submitted it now, but do I have to have specific reason to leave when applying? The paperwork suggests that I need to have a family emergency or something. Can anyone help me with this?

No yoyu cant leave, you will jeopardize your application for adjuatment of status. Applying for I-130 i believe its too late cause its part of the requirement under adjustment of status are affidavit of aupport, employment authorization & parole travel approval. Just wait for the process.

    Good luck

The reason that you must provide for advanced parole should either be educational, employment, or humanitarian. And you must provide supporting evidence. You can’t just say you want to visit your family.
If you don’t have a valid reason to request for the advanced parole, you have no choice but to wait for your i-485 to be approved.
If you can produce a valid reason, then it doesn’t take too long for the advance parole document to be issued. My wife received hers in just 2 weeks.
