  • i485 delays

    Hi guys.
Anybody else from Nyc has been waiting for interview date or is it only me, and my date of filing is july 13, 2015. Me and my wife filed for adjustment of status last year but havent heard anything yet. Had also infopass but the officer said that the security check is not done yet. Anybody else from Nyc has similar problems?

I am still waiting for an interview date with my husband. We filed in Jan though, my lawyer said in next few months I should get a date, probably around October. I got my EAD and Advance Parole in march. It says my application is ready to be scheduled for an interview. It is taking them a very long time.

Are you in new York? New York takes forever to even get an interview, I was told to expect end of this year by my lawyer to get an interview notice sigh.
I read on some forums it is normal to have interview first before you receive EAD. I wouldn't worry about it. In some cases you might even get your GC before your EAD if your office is fast.

          Hello,

I'm NYC applicant from Long Island Holtsville, the leadtime process from the the Priority date issued count 8 to 9 months process.

My priority date July 28, 2015, got our interview last May 3, 2016.

Did you change address? make sure your address is up to date in USCIS.

The timelines in new york are pretty crazy. I mean some guys that i saw at my lawyers office took their GC after 4 months while mine it is been 11 already without an interview notice. I mean this is ridiculous and their only answer is security check. anybody got any suggestions cause im getting desperate over here.

Yes we changed address but the officer at uscis, which seemed very bored to do her job told us that our case was still in the process of security check. I mean ok my file i-485 is still pending but what about my wife that is an US citizen what must her problem be with her i-130. I am an Staten Island applicant and at this point i think i will contact my senator regarding my case.we don't even have a near schedule for interview date and soon my ead needs to be expired.

                  Hi Angelo,

Did you transfer in different state? or the same county of your application?

The reason why I was asking I was advised by the USCIS customer service if you move to a different state the processing time of the document will be more delay (no specific day/months of delay specified). Because they need to transfer your document to which county is nearest from your new address and will be reviewed again. But if you transfer on the same county you had applied your document NO changes in my lead-time process. That is why we had received notice 8 to 9 month on my priority date.

Moreover, did you update your United postal office address also? cause my notice was sent to my old address and the United postal office re-routed my letter to our new place.

No i didn't move to a different county just to the same place. The problem is that also my lawyer doesnt know what to d in this situation. My only option right nw is to contact the senator and after that if nothing happens to write a mandamus action. I see people every day getting their GC while I am stuck at my shitty job and every month i have to knock at uscis to learn what is happening but clearly nobody gives a ****.
