  • Approved on spot. Recieved welcome letter 4 days after. No GC YET.

I was approved on spot on May 2nd (marriage based ). The IO was super polite and professional. She gave us the approval letter, and said that I should get the GC within 3 weeks.

On may 5th I recieved welcome letter. My status didn't change till May 11th ( update saying my case was approved on may 2nd).

Yet, I am still waiting for the GC and status still hasn't updated.

I called to the customer service line and they said I need to wait , and if I don't get anything else within the next 4 weeks to call back.

Is anyone going through something like this?

I'm just desperate, I don't want it to get lost in the mail, or stolen.

              Hi there, of course.

We basically took every paper, that had our names on them. Lease contract, car insurance policy, life insurance policy with each other's names. Joint bank account. I am a paper horder so I even saved the letter from USPS saying that we changed address. We have 4 children, so we took birth certificates.

I made a photo album, starting with the older pics, telling our story. We've been together since 2004 so I did took a bunch of pics. I took some screen shots from text messages. Some letters that we have sent each other.

We got to the building at 9:50 the interview was schedule at 10:30. The IO called us in about 10:45. She took us to her office and swore us in.The interview was about 20 min long.
She started asking questions to my husband:
Date when he became a US citizen?
                Who petioned for him?
                Our children DOB
                His DOB
How we met? If we have previously lived together? When did we get marry?

                To me:

                How I entered to US?
                I entered us a tourist.

She asked for my B1B2 visa and permit.

She then asked me about my mom and siblings. Which was funny because my mom also has 4 children and as my mom I delivered my babies in the same order, girl, boy, girl and girl. I pointed this out because the officer did catched it. And she said that it was rare. So they are paying attention to every single detail.

Then she scorted us out and asked us to wait outside. By this time she had not asked for any evidence .She said she was gonna review our case and asked us if we had any evidence that she should look at. So we handed everything.

About 30 min later, she came out and said we were approved she handled us the approval letter. I gotta say I was prepare to deal with a MEAN IO, based on reviews.

But she was amazing. So respectful and polite.

I want to submit my AOS package this week but I didnt have my my i-693 yet, i dont have a budget to pay for the civil surgeon yet. I believe that I can take it during my interview. Just wondering if you bring your medical examination results and vaccine during interview?
