  • applying for adjustment of status

    Hi every one,

I just checked my lottery green card status, and noticed that I won it. I'm a student in US. I came to US with F1 visa. but it is expired now. My I 20 is still valid till the end of 2017. so I'm legally living in US.
I need to file adjustment of status. I looked at their website but now I'm confused. I don't know what to do and how I should start. Is there anyone who can help me in this process?
    I really appreciate it.

    Regards,
    Sam

    Congratulations on winning the lottery.
1-you need to register your lottery with DOS, review the DOS website , lottery section for the forms needed. and you need to pay $ 330 If I remember correctly and you can inform your consular center that you want to adjust your status in the US.
2- You needs to wait until you receive a letter from USCIS, sometime after October, and keep looking for the visa bulletin which is issued by DOS, when your case number became current he can sent the AOS package to USCIS. keep in mind that you needs to be in status until your case number become current. Can take up to 2 years
