I'm a Canadian professor at a university in the Midwestern US. I am applying for a Green Card with my wife and kids. I-485 update page says they received my fingerprint fee on October 29th, but no update since that point.
I've recently been offered a faculty position at a university in Upstate New York, about 1.5 hours from our hometown in Canada. I've been looking into ways to accept the position if the green card is not yet approved and came across the AC21 portability act, which allows this transfer to take place.
Does anyone know anything about this program? How does it work? How do I apply? It says that I only need copies of my I-140 and I-485, but is it a rubber stamp process?
