Hello everyone,
I've been using ImmiHelp for our permanent residency application as a reference for quite sometime now but I seem to get no answers when I search for my specific problem. Maybe I have overlooked it. If you know what I should do in my specific situation (or in a similar situation) please let me know or guide me to that post.
My situation is as follows:
I'm a A-2 visa holder, married to a US citizen for over 3 years now. I'm not a diplomat (I don't have immunity and such) but I'm considered a local hire. I got my A-2 visa in 2013, it was valid for 5 years (expires on 2017). However my passport expired January of 2015. I got a new passport in 2015 and upon receiving my passport I applied at a new A-2 visa here in the U.S. without having to get out of the country. I was given a new A-2 visa with a new expiration date (2020).
When applying for change of status via I-485 it asks me my travel history (as stated on my I-94) and my passport/visa number. My last entry into U.S. was made with my old passport and visa. I haven't left the U.S. with my new passport/visa yet. So when I go onto pull up my I-94 travel history nothing comes up with my new passport/visa information. When I use my old passport and visa information I can see all my previous entries into US dating back to 2008 when I was a student on F-1 visa.
My question is; Should I provide my old passport and visa information on immigration forms or should I use the new passport and visa information? This is the only thing that's keeping us from filing our application. I know it's a little too specific of a situation but I'm hoping someone might shed a light on this dilemma.
Thanks,
Burke
