We are getting married next week and I am trying to decide if I should change my last name or if that would make things more complicated. I still have one semester left in college - I would have to change my name for diploma, payroll for campus job, my debit card, social security. Additionally, once I get travel authorization, I need a new passport from my country with the new name to be able to travel. What are people's experiences? Should I just keep my last name?

Same predicament. I kept my last name just because of the hassle of changing everything (and you know how efficient everything here is) but I read elsewhere on a different forum an account of this immigration officer telling the couple it would've been easier to process their documents if they had the same last name.

Hi there. We just had our interview today. And I didn't change my name just because I knew it would've been a whole another situation with doing that. The officer asked me if I'm planning on changing my name or not, I told her I will in the near future. And she just said. That's ok. Only reason she asked was, because she needed to know if they should print my new name or maiden name on the card. She told me once I get my GC it will
Be much easier to change my last name

      Good luck with your interview.
Ps: my new last name will be on my GC
