Working on EAD

My I 140 has been approved and I 485 has been pending for over 1 year.I changed employers.I have filed for my EAD extension but it seems it might not come before my current EAD expires. I still have my H1b valid from my old employer but i do not work for them any more.Now can I work with my new employer after my EAD expires or should i go back to my old employer before it expires? Please advice what to do.

Just call the immigration and speak to an officer and ask what you should do. They can take a look at your case and give you the best advice since every case is different in that matter. Good luck
