I am petitioning for my spouse who is currently IN the USA on tourist visa. We are trying to adjust her status. I have to provide I-864 together with I-485. In part 5 of that document "Sponsor's Household Size" I have to list her as the "person I am sponsoring" in point 1. However, in the section "Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit" I have point 2. "yourself" and (!!!) point 3. "If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse".
If I enter 1, than she becomes "a person NOT sponsored"! What should I do, if my spouse (we married in the US) and the person I am sponsoring is one and the same person??? Any advise? Thing is, if I put 1 for person I am sponsoring, than 1 for myself AND 1 for my spouse, my household will become 3 people instead of me and her!
