  • EAD expiring July 15th, no response about renewal

    Hi,

I've been reading other's post on here and it seems like there are a lot of lucky people around. I don't feel very lucky at the moment and am afraid I will lose my job. Important dates are as follows:

    Applied OPT: 05/??/2015
    Married: 07/03/2015
    Received EAD: 08/03/2015
    Sent i-485, i-130, i-765(renewal): 04/23/2016
    Cases received: 04/25/2016
    Bio-metrics appt: 05/26/2016

Status for i-485 has been "Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview" since June 2nd and I have not received anything in the mail yet. Both the i-130 and i-765 still only display that my case has been received. My EAD expires July 15th and my boss keeps asking me to push for my papers, but I know from experience that all they will tell me is that I have to wait the 90 days before I can do anything. By then my EAD will have been expired for a week as the 90 days will be up the 24th.

Anybody have any suggestions or know of a way I can speed this process up?

Edit: Forgot to mention that I live in South Jersey and sent applications to Chicago. Did Bio-metrics in Philadelphia.

    EAD before AOS?

    Hi!
How did you get an EAD before sending your AOS package? Are you on an F-1 completing OPT?

      On OPT... April filer, too!!

      Hi!
Please, ignore my previous question. I've just realized that you are on OPT! It's clear on your message... "Applied OPT..."
I'm also on OPT, but mine expires in September. My AOS package was received by USCIS on April 11th this year. My case is similar to yours. Case ready for interview since June 1 for I-485. No update for I-130 and I-765.
I am also waiting patiently for my EAD card.

      My advice to you:
On your notice of action receipt, USCIS provides a number to call. Call them and tell them about your situation.

        Filed expedite form

Thank you for the advice! I did call in and spoke to someone very kind, which was unexpected. I explained my situation and she told me I could file for an expedite form since I met the criteria "Severe financial loss to company or person" as my husband is unemployed and I am the only one working at the moment. I should hear back within 2 to 5 business days, so here's hoping this works and that I get a prompt reply!

          Update: Received interview appointment

I have now received my appointment letter and it was scheduled for August 11th. I am hoping I will get the new EAD before then, though, as I do not want to have to be without a job for so long.

I hope you get yours soon!
