  • April filer from Connecticut

Thank you, everyone, for sharing your experience via this medium.
In moments of sadness, anxiousness, and impatience, your words of experience somehow provide great comfort to me.

    I filed in April.
It is July, 1st and I am feeling desperate.
If you have also filed in April (or better yet, March!), please share your experience. It will be extremely helpful for me.

I filed from Connecticut (YEAR 2016).

Note: I am the beneficiary. I am currently on an F-1 visa completing OPT. I have been in the US since 2006, LEGALLY... Arrived on a J-1 and switched to an F-1 in 2008. I have finished my Bachelor's and my Master's degrees in this country. I met my husband in 2009, we remained close friends until 2013 when we began our relationship as boyfriend/girlfriend. We got engaged exactly on our 2-year anniversary last year. We got married last year (2015) in November.

This is our timeline for the application:

4/6 Application sent (I prepared everything myself)
4/10 Application delivered in Chicago, IL (Priority Mail 2-Day Certified Mail, Return Receipt... I regret not having paid more money so they could have it in their hands the next day! Those 4 days of waiting for my application to arrive to destination felt like an eternity)
    4/18 I received 3 text messages from USCIS ("Your case was received.") I-765 & I-130 & I-485
    4/18 USCIS cashed our checks
4/20 "Check Status" online worked for the first time
4/21 I received 3 receipts in the mail
4/29 I received the biometrics appointment letter in the mail
5/10 I followed the instructions in the letter and showed up in East Hartford at the time and day specified in the letter
6/2 I noticed on the USCIS "Check Status" website, the words for my I-485 had changed to "Case is Ready to be scheduled for an interview"
There are still no changes for the I-130 or the I-485

My question is, when will I receive my EAD? When will I have the interview?

Ead could take up to 90 days to receive it...sometimes the interview will come first which is my case. Got Biometrics done May25 and then I-485 changed to Interview is scheduled for ...

Lucky you! I still don't have a specific time for the interview yet. When did you file?
