Hi,
I am in a bit of time crunch. My mother had applied for my I-130, and we never received the approval letter. However based on the receipt number, I do see from USCIS database that the case was approved.
I am currently working in US and want to file an AOS. I am aware of filing an I-824 to request a copy of the approval notice but that takes 3-4 months. I had heard from some folks that we can obtain a copy by either emailing uscis/nvc (or my lawyer can), or we can try booking an info pass appointment and request a print out.
Do people have any experience with this? I would really rather not submit an I-824 due to the extra time if anything else is possible.
