about joint sponsor

Since my husband is still in school, he doesn't have enough income to sponsor me.
One of my friend is willing to be my joint sponsor.
However, his income vary a lot.
His tax return show last year his income is more than $30,000 which is sufficient to be my sponsor.
but he also concerning about what would happen if he didn't meet the requirement in 2016-2017 or during that 10 years??

they don't need to support u for 10 years!! it is only until u get ur citizenship which can be for for 3 years if u still married or 5 years if u divorced after u got ur green card.
