            Hey all,

So today was the long awaited day!.
We got to Baltimore office and after checking in, we were called in and sworn.

Since our case is on F2A category, the I-130 was approved 09/15 and it was already in file and so the officer said our marriage has been approved so the interview is just for AOS only!. He checked status (currently on H1B visa) ie VISA stamp on passport and asked if traveled on the H1B visa. Then went through all the questions on 485 and that was it!. In 15 min, the 2+ yrs wait was done!.

I had compiled a folder with all imaginable evidence I could come up with to support our case and of course a full album!. So when the officer said he does not need any more information from us as of now, I laughed and said "ooh my God, I have this file ready for you....lol...he just replied..."I can imagine all that is about your marriage?.....we have everything we need as of now". Oh I must mention, my husband is the one who was being asked about his I-485. I just sat there all this time and not 1 single question about our marriage so I did not talk at all....

I ges we sent out a lot of supporting documents for both I-130 and I-485 that they probably dint need anything more from us.The officer had our file and it was quite a fat bundle of everything we have sent out.

We had opened a joint account long before we got married, put in the paper work when I was pregnant with my first and by the time we did I-485 we already had baby 2!...so this made the case a lot easy. We did a court wedding and that was not even brought up.

At the end, the officer gave us a form where he ticked on the box that "the case is held for review etc etc" and said we should here from USCIS if they need any additional information from us.

I must add that, while we waited to be called in, the field director announced that they r under staffed and therefore there could be delayed. Maybe that is why Baltimore office is so back logged.....?

Anyhow, I hope we will get the greencard soon.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes.....and if you put your application together with thorough supporting information, I ges there is nothing to worry about and infact if you can do it yourself, that will save you some $$$. We did it on our own....so can you!.

My best wishes to everyone.....remember no matter how frustrating the waiting is......the outcome will beat all the anxiety!....its so relaxing to be done.

Hello Nike. Can you recalled after that date your application for Employment Authorization got approved, was there any other status like a new card is been produced or we mailed you a card or something like that with tracking number for that card, or you just got the approval letter together with the card inside it in the mail without any other updates aside from the approval updates on your status?
Thanks for your response in advance.

                        Interview

                        Hey guys

Quick update. So on 03/24/17 I received a notification text saying that your interview had been scheduled. 4 days later in the mail I received a letter stating that from USCIS confirming interview date on 4/2 7/17

I had my interview on 4/27/17

Here is what I can say about it. I have been with my wife girlfriend since 2009 and we have three children so no questions about validity of marriage. Having said that

Interview was at 8:30. We were there on time. By 9 am were called in
1 - we were told to raise our right hand and swear that we are telling the truth and the whole truth. We did
2 - first question was how did we meet
3 - then the interviewer went through the application line by line asking questions to me and her....what is your address..what is her cell phone number....then he said wrong things to see if we would trip ip. Like...so you guys have 4 children...or ask my wife about social work..because she is a social worker. Asked about where I lived.
4 - BIG NOTE...since Baltimore is running behind...MY I-693 WAS MORE THAN 1 YEAR AGO. SO WE WERE SENT US BACK WITH A AN REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION STATING WE NEED TO DO THE MEDICAL EXAM. I typed this in caps because had we done this...our green card would have been approved in the spot. So if you are in a similar situation...pls redo the exam and bring it with you

He also asked if we wanted to turn evdence. We had everything tax returns photos elec bills...but he did not look at anythibf. He said that he believed or marriage to be valid. So...if you think that you believe they may question your marriage..make sure to bring documents. Also note they have reviewed your entire file. So they will ask questions.

So where do I stand. I redid the medical..and am submitted it back to baltimore..and I'm noe waiting for the approval.

Do not lie about anything and take an attorney. It prevents them from asking questions they should not.

So that's it. Still waiting now. And from they way Baltimore is backed up. I would not be surprised if it takes months before I received the green card.

                        Hope this helps guys

Looks like everybody's waiting for a year or more to get to interview in Baltimore office...

I have a friend who applied beginning of April 2016 and she had her interview on 3/30/2017. Successful - she received her green card within a week or two max.

My pd is 8/9/2016. Still no update that my case is ready to be scheduled.

I heard that Baltimore office is back logged because they tried to work on as many citizenship cases as possible before the election 11/2016, and they'd have only one I-485 case scheduled for interview a week...so imagine....

                            question for note 4

                            Hi, Nike107,

I have question about the medical exam, does your i 693 has more than one year from your submission date when you on interview time? Did you received note to bring new medical exam or not?
My situation is medical exam did on April, and submitted on June, and my interview is end of this month, no notice for new exam.. Since website said i 693 is valid one year from submission. So I am struggle if i need redo or not.

                            Thanks in advance.
                            stella

He said that he believed or marriage to be valid. So...if you think that you believe they may question your marriage..make sure to bring documents. Also note they have reviewed your entire file. So they will ask questions.

So where do I stand. I redid the medical..and am submitted it back to baltimore..and I'm noe waiting for the approval.

Do not lie about anything and take an attorney. It prevents them from asking questions they should not.

So that's it. Still waiting now. And from they way Baltimore is backed up. I would not be surprised if it takes months before I received the green card.

                            Hope this helps guys

                              Renew Medical Exam

NOTICE: If you have to redo your Medical Exam please look at the form that the doctor gives you to fill out. The form with the expiration date of 3/31/2017 IS NOT VALID as of April 28, 2017. Please don't let this little mistake be the reason why you get denied!!!

I went yesterday to redo my Medical Exam since it had been 1 year since the time I took it. Thankfully, I had printed out the new form from uscis.gov and notified the doctor. However he told me that the old version with the expiration date of 3/31/2017 is valid. So I was like okay. But to be safe I called my attorney and he did his research. To be extra safe I called uscis myself and the officer named Joaquin told me that my case would get rejected if I submitted the old Medical Exam Form. That I needed to tell the doctor that HE NEEDS TO USE THE NEW MEDICAL EXAM FORM (I-163). So take notice of this and get your attorney involved. I called my attorney again and he said that I was right and he called the referred doctor he sends his clients to and told him to use the NEW MEDICAL FORM. I'm glad I caught this before I go into my interview in two weeks.

Please also note that some doctors will say they can use the old form with the expiration date of 3/31/2017 until July 2017. But I WOULD NOT RESK IT! We are so close to get approved and if we get denied for something that could have been avoided it's not worth it. So make sure you fill it and sign the new form. The edition date is 2/02/2017 with expiration date of 2/28/2019.

                              Best wishes to you all!
