  • Help with i864

    Hi,
I married a us citizen on my current trip to the usa. We have been in a long distance relationship for aprox 2 years prior.

He has children here and can't relocate to my home country because of it. For this reason we are aplying for a change of status for me.

Any advice would be helpful. I specifically need advice in the i864.
He is a subcontractor. Has income to meet the income requirement and filed the tax return. But a letter from a employer would be hard as he is in construction and works on different jobs for different people. He subcontracts.

He is a calm person and tells me not to worry, so I am asking the question here.

    Thanks in advance.

Since you are considered immediate family all USCIS requires is the Notarised I-864

there is no obligation to send employer letter

Ther is no obligation to send employer letter they only need his tax return form 1040 along with any form 1099 form his contractor. He migh also considering a transcript from IRS if he cannot find his tax return. the employer letter is optional for further details on a step by step base on how to fill out the form you can check this page http://www.filingdoc.com/how-to-file...davit-support/ I fount it very useful
