  • i-693 medical examination

    Hi everyone,

so im planning to send my aos package next week. Hopefully, by monday. My only hesitation is that I havent had my medical examination yet, Im just wondering if I can just submit it
during my interview? And also the reason is I dont have that much budget for medical examination and I really really want to file my adjustment asap.

If you don't have the I-693 exam envelope to submit, you can expect a Request for Evidence, which will be accompanied by a deadline of 87 days or similar, else your Adjustment package will be denied. "Sometimes" the medical exam submittal can be ignored, then taken to the interview, but do you feel like gambling?

Well you won't get it ASAP unless you have an immediate family member sponsoring you. If you don't enclose the completed I-693 with your 485 this will slow it down even more, USCIS likes everything they ask for, if you don't include the 693 you will recieve an RFE Returned for Evidence. A couple of tips, Do use an physician approved by USCIS they can provide you a list nearest your location. Do make an appointment, be very specific when you make the appointment as the receptionist may not understand what you need. If you have a complete uptodate vaccination record bring it as the physician will charge you for every booster/vaccine that you don't have. Forsee that whatever the physician charges you have an additional cushion, the reason being you will be required to get bloodwork done by Quest, Labcorp etc. and they charge independant of the physician's charge. Oh this is not covered under standard health insurance.

        I693

I took mine to the interview with me, I believe they're only good for 12 months and had I sent it originally it would have needed to be done again. It took 54 weeks for us to get to the interview stage, we filed in Dallas though and they have a pretty big backlog.
