My wife is a British National who came here on the Visa Waiver Program. We had been friends and business colleagues prior and I came to visit her during her first 90 days. She has been visiting the US for 20 years seeing family and always went back on time. We stayed together for a month and started to become romantic but nothing serious. Before she was scheduled to return to UK, we took a trip to Canada to see her friends. UPon returning the plan was for her to leave and go back to the UK. However, once back I quickly realized I loved her and she me and we wanted to marry, impulsively we got married two weeks later.

We waited to file adjustment of status request for 90 days to make sure we wanted to stay here and not go to the UK. Is the fact that we got married so quick going to hurt our chances. We entered with no intentions of marriage but realized (even though she was granted another 90n day stay by US Immigration) that we wanted to build a life together.

Since then we have a joint lease, car insurance and health insurance. We haven't combined money yet cause I am in the process of declaring bankruptcy.

We received her work permit quick and are now just waiting for interview. Just worried that, unbenounced to us, getting married quick can raise flags, it was honestly just an impulsive decision born out of love and the desire to build a life.

    Any advice is welcomed.

i wouldn't tell the immigration officers that u got married on impulse or for immigration benefit she will get denied and be a list for deportation. u guys have history together ill focus on that. with the bank account they don't care how much money is in the bank...it just has to show transactions for 6 months....

if u guys love/like each other i wouldn't really worry about the interview.

    good luck!

I really wouldn't worry about it, I have known my husband for 5 years (us citizen) and I came here from the UK last year in May. We married just over three weeks after I arrived and filed for AOS the following month. It took a little over a year to get to interview for us as we are in Dallas and there's a backlog and I got my conditional card less than a week later.
If your relationship is really you won't have any issues.
