Hello,
I had a question concerning my immigration. I arrived in USA as a student (F-1) and once I graduated I applied and received OPT. After that I started a business and filed for E-2 and got approved. I have renewed my E-2 twice and its expiring on 03/2017. However, earlier this year I got married to a US citizen and applied last month the forms I-130, I-485, I-864, G-325A with supporting documents including medical. Since I have my own business I didnt file for work authorization (I-765) and dont need to travel so didnt file for travel authorization either. I applied concurrently and submitted all the documents to Chicago lockbox but I live in Houston.
I got notification of receipt from USCIS for both 130 and 485 and I also got the fingerprinting appointment.
I wanted to know if I should renew my E-2 which is expiring March 2017 or should I wait to hear more from USCIS as the year progresses? I was thinking of applying for E-2 renewal in January 2017 if I havent heard anything back about my case. According to the USCIS website for processing times (as of today) the Houston field office is working on September 17, 2015 I-485's so I think by the time mine is being worked on my E-2 would be expired.
Any experience/input/advise that any one here might have had that will help me with this is greatly appreciated.
