  • Helpp / Inquiry I-485

    Hello everybody. I needed some help and advice on what to do.
    I am into same sex marriage and we already had our interview last month and we received a letter from USCIS today (since the first letter was not received, they send us another letter). On the letter they were asking for the following documents;

    1. Affidavit from third party certifying that our marriage is genuine and not a fraud. We already asked our friends who witness our wedding.
    2. Proof of employment of my husband since they forgot to asked the original payslip of my husband during the interview/
    3. Proof of my employment authorization - where in this is the problem.

    I worked as a caregiver prior to the marriage. And prior to submission of the application to USCIS, we consulted a lawyer and told us that we can mention on the application that I am working as a caregiver even without having a work permit and that I am working as a part time and that I am paying taxes as well.

    So please anyone help me on what to do about this as they are only giving me 30 days to submit all the docs.
    A lawyer in LA told me that all I need to do is just make an affidavit and state the truth that I only work as a part time reliever as caregiver.

    Please help me anyone pleaseeeeeeee

    Thanks

    Just write a letter explaining how you worked. As long as your husband is a US citizen working will be forgiven as long as you did not use **** d papers. where was your interview? sounds like you did not get the nicest officer. Our officer was so nice i have brought all those things and he did not even ask for it. good luck
