Need help on adjust status.

Hello, I came in US with a visa type B, had a baby, unfortunately my baby was born with a medical condition and we can't leave US, I'm still "legal" with my visa because I applied for extension and so far I had 5 approved, the lady from SOcial security told me that based on my daughter disability I can adjust my status to a temporary/permanent resident even if she is a minor, do any of you guys know anything about this proces and if this is possible? Should I contact a lawyer?

A child's disability does not provide a legal basis for the parent to adjust status. The Social Security employee should stick to giving SS advice and leave immigration advice to those with the correct information.
