My husband and I were interviewed today. Unfortunately, his birth certificate (USC) is missing from my file. Right then and there I know that we be pending or in trouble. After that, the officer asked for proof that the marriage is not fraudulent. We have been married only for 4 months. I do not work, because I have a F1 status, actually just graduated the course last July 2016.
Anyways, I showed her a copy of the bank statement (I opened a POD account, with my husband (USC) as the beneficiary, showed her checks connected to that account that has both our names. We do not have the official Life Insurance Policy because it is still being processed, that one was filed by my husband with me as a beneficiary. I also showed a Renter's Insurance that I availed from Wells Fargo in connection to my POD.
After that she asked, so u have no bills together? utilities? I said none at the moment because we are staying with my family as of the moment until we can get a new apartment. Oh I did provide an ATT Phone statement, a Family Pack (4 lines) that includes our names too. She kept on sighing and banging the table with the papers. And I'm thinking uh-oh we might be separated for interview. But she didn't do that. She asked us info from the forms we submitted I-130 (my husband answered); I-485; I did, needless to say all info were confidently answered. They say never show a stone face towards the interviewer so, I pretended to be calm and smiling when she asked me.
Then she asked, have you worked before while youre here? I said no, which is true, I said because I was a student and that's not allowed, and I just received my work autho. Shen then stamped my B1/B2 Visa with "Cancelled without Prejudice". I was shocked but I cant really ask her why she did that right?
Then she excused herself to print something. When she came back she handed as a RFE for my husbands original birth certificate. She was smiling a bit and mumbling and I heard something like, I cant really do anything for you guys right now, nothing to proof youre really married together, ill have the other officers handle your case. So I then asked, coz she seem to be dismissing us, should we wait outside for another interview (honestly, I wanted it done this morning, just to prove that the marriage is not fraudulent) But she said, nah just submit the RFE and I will re-asses.
Okay my story is long but anybody can help me at least figure out what happened? and the possible scenarios based on my story that could happen? Interview started 7:15 am, we were out the door by 7:45-8:00am,
I have been feeling like I wanna pass out since this morning.
