I got a Request for Initial Information after sending in our Adjustment of Status application and could use some advice.
Based on the documents we sent we did not prove our income being above the minimum for our household size.
Both my wife and I moved to the US together in November 2015 after she lived with me in Europe for some years. I got an L-1 Visa from my employer, but we are applying for the Familiy/Spouse based AoS with a pre-approved I-130.
While I have been full time employed since November, my wife got her first job in May. Her income alone is above our 125% poverty threshold.
Our joint 2015 tax return only shows a small income (Nov+Des), and I am not even sure if the USCIS even considers my income since I am the applicant in this case?
We did send my wife's employment letter and her first two pay slips with the AoS application, but it looks like that wasn't enough proof of income. Perhaps too recent?
The Request for Initial Information letter states providing bank statements for the last 12 months to prove our assets, but since we both moved back less than a year ago we can't really provide that.
Do we have to get a joint sponsor?
