I485 for an approved i526 (EB5 )

Hi Everyone,

I am a visitor in Houston on a B1/B2.., I have just got my i526 (EB5) approved.., my lawyer is suggesting that we do a i485 and change our status.., I just need to ask the following if anyone can help..

1) After Filling a i485 - for an EB5 how long does it take for Biometrics
2) After Biometrics - how long does it take for a Green Card

Also I need to know when they are approving the i526 , they investigate the source of funds.., do they also do a background check of the person...

Should I apply for travel documents while the i485 is being processed ????

Does anyone know how long this full procedure takes for the i485 for EB5 Investors ?????

Hello there, I can answer some of your questions based on my ongoing experience with my own case: (I am not an attorney!)

My case is based on a I-130 Petition for Alien/Spouse


1) After Filling a i485 - for an EB5 how long does it take for Biometrics? ANSWER: From the receipt of my I-485 to the "Notice of Action" I-797c 9 DAYS for BIOMETRIC APPOINTMENT
From I-797c to actual Biometrics was 17 days. **BIOMETRICS ARE FORWARDED TO F.B.I. FOR BACKGROUND CHECK**

2) After Biometrics - how long does it take for a Green Card? ANSWER: 87 DAYS (But this is based on unlimited Visa Numbers allocated for immediate family)
In your case it maybe different as you may have to follow your priority date!
