  • How to prepare for the interview

Alright, I know a lot of people asked this question before and I'm sure the thread got lost in the middle of all the other questions.
I recently got my interview letter and it is scheduled for next month.
I just want to know (for the ones who already went thru it) how did you prepare? What kind of questions did you get? Which documents did you have in your file? Was your spouse or you answering most of the questions? What about the pictures? Did you print them and put them in an album? Etc... Please let us know and I'm sure I'm not the only one who want to know how this process goes.
I'm a little bit nervous but I will be fine once I read some answers and how to go about it.

    Thank you

My best advice (No I'm not a Lawyer) be truthful and answer all their questions. (Chances are they already know the answers)
I'm prepering a presentation binder for my interview, I'll include the following:

Both my spouse and I BC's
        Both our Passports
Our florida marriage license (40 years of marriage)
        Both our Fla. D/L
        Our sons BC
        Both of ours SS# Cards

Bring as much as you can - even little things like letters or postcards to each other or itineraries from trips you took together - whatever you can find. They will most likely ask for the obvious stuff first (joint bank account, lease, car title, insurance, photos) but sometimes it's good to have some additional evidence. I brought a big binder full of stuff with me. The questions were pretty straight forward. How did you meet? Have you ever met your spouse's parent's? Where was he/she born? The officer asked both of us some questions. It was relatively relaxed. Just be professional, courteous, keep eye contact, and give short and precise answers. No need to worry. Good luck!

I had my interview today and I must say I was nervous and stressed for no reasons. The IO was very nice, and it was more of a conversation than anything else. She was even joking with us and laughing all along.
We got there at 8am for a 8:30 interview, she called us in, she swore us in, then proceeded to ask my husband questions that were on the i485 form. Asked me the same questions.
Then asked us where we met and to tell her our story.
Then she picked up our album, looked thru it then asked who was who on the pics. Then asked my husband if he talked to my parents. Asked me if I met his parents and that was it.
She told me I would be hearing from them.
This evening I checked my case online and it says "your case is approved and we will mail you a notice".
I can only thank this website, the feedback received, and also all the posts that helped me get thru with this process.
I know I don't have the GC itself in my hands yet but I can only stay positive and hope it gets to me as soon as possible.
                      Thank you guys
