  • Alien (USCIS) Number from OPT EAD card before H-1B?

I-485 asks for "A-Number (if any)".

I have a current H-1B visa which doesn't have that. I had OPT EAD card before my H-1B which has the A-Number (USCIS #).

I couldn't find any documentation or statement on what I should fill in A-Number in my case. Anyone has an opinion or a source on this matter?

    Thanks.

I believe you are referring to Part 1 on the I-485 application. USCIS wants to know if you have been given An Alien# from an existing/Cancelled Permanent Resident Card. AKA "Green Card"
SO if you had a Permanent Resident Card Now or in the past use it in part 1, you will know it because its 9 numbers. If you do not have it leave it blank, also at the end of Part 1 where it says
"Current USCIS Status" put your visa type and number.
    Hope this helped.
