if under F2B and got married, what are the possibilities?

Pls help me urgent!!!

I am under petition case f2b. I got married after my mother naturalize. I already have 1kid. The NVC is asking us if we would like to upgrade to F1. They say that the current priority date that they are processing is f2b. I was petitioned 1996. Either f1 or f2b are single entry. I made some research and found out that we could ask for a change of status from NVC to be F3. Will this affect my waiting and how positive that we will be approve. Please help me, we only have 1month lefgt to answer the letter from NVC or they will continue the f2b case.

Since you are married now you are not under the F2B preference any more. F2B is for the Unmarried Sons and Daughters of a permanent resident. Since you are married you have to include your family “your wife and kids” with you in the petition. The preference that you are eligible under is F3 not F1. F1 is for the unmarried sons or daughter of US citizen. F3 is for the married sons and daughter of US citizen. The waiting is 3+ years longer under F3 but it is your only choice since you are married.
