I485 Status Update Frequency On USCIS Site

Adjustment of Status is applied as a parent of a Citizen. received the finger print notification around end of Apr 2016 and completed the finger printing at Houston, TX site on May 20 2016.

Past 4 months, the only status that shows up on USCIS site is that - "On April 7, 2016, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, .........." when in reality I have already completed finger printing on May 20th. When I called the USCIS, the only response I get is it normally takes a "YEAR" to get that status update from ASC center !!!

Is this norm or something has gone wrong in the process ? I am planning on visiting the ASC center and ask them on why there was not status change.

I'm not really understanding what you are saying here. If the issue is USCIS updating your case then you should know that they usually update around 4-5PM daily. I'm in the same boat as you are, my biometrics occured on 08/02/2016. If you count the business days excluding legal holidays I'm waiting 31 days since my finger prints were taken.

Adrian, what does the USCIS status shows up if type in your application number ?
