  • Concurrent Filing I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131; Assembly Example

    Hello.
I just sent in my application today (Yay!!!), however, I realized I still have few questions, and would like to be prepared in case of RFEs.

Also, while assembling the packet, I realized there aren't all that many examples on how to do this, so I though I'd share mine, and hopefully this will help someone out.

So, my situation is as follows. I arrived to the US on F-1 visa; visa expired in August 2012; in September of 2012 I was detained by immigration while trying to fly out of McCallen, TX (i know, stupid), however, I was released 2 days later without any documents, notices to appear before a judge, or anything of the sort (I think my, at the time, boyfriend's family and the fact that they are all from there and know everyone, is what led to my release, but can't be sure, as no-one will admit to anything); in December 2012 married the said boyfriend; in March 2016 we had our first baby boy, which brings us to today; filing day.
    My questions are:
    1. Since I've been out of status for this long, did I need to fill out anything other than the standard packet (described below)?
    2. Since I've been detained, is there anything extra I needed to send in (on the form I ended up saying "Never been in immigration proceedings"), even though absolutely nothing ever came of it?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

And now for the assembly "instructions"

I ended up assembling 4 separate folders, with a "main cover sheet" on top of them. Each folder had its separate cover sheet, describing the contents, attached to the front of it. Inside the left pocket of the folders were all of the Form (i.e. G-1145, I-130, G325A's), as well as passport photos, if required. Inside the right pocket were all of the supporting documents for the corresponding forms. The cover sheets are below.

Hopefully this helps someone! Let me know if you think I'm missing anything.
