  • I-864 "Complete tax returns" means how much of a 36+ page document?

Hello! This place is great. Been here much, never posted.

We are applying for AoS for my wife and my mother is the joint sponsor. We are uncertain about how much of the 2015 tax return needs to be included. Their total tax return is upwards of 36 pages and is jointly filed with my father. My mother's income is sufficient, so there is no other assets or my father's income. There are 1099s for around $8 income. But all that is stated is "complete tax returns" but no definition of what "complete" is. I want to assume it's absolutely everything, but then a lot of forms would be included that aren't necessarily relevant. We're planning on just including everything to be safe, but if that's not needed then we can avoid annoying the USCIS gods with our overly cautious inclusions.

Any experience or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

What definition of complete are you looking for? Usually complete means ''Whole"... So if she has a tax return with 36 pages... and that is the "COMPLETE" tax return... You should submit the complete tax return...

Just my opinion... Use at your own risk

You're right. The definition of complete isn't vague. It just states that it wants documents relevant to the sponsor, and not all of that is. And I've read warnings about including TOO much information.

I am not an attorney but what we have done is send the 2 pages of our 1099's if your income is $8 then you need to include statements of assetts, real estate holdings and so on.

Consult the USCIS links I'm sending: https://www.uscis.gov/i-864
