I met my filipino partner during a business convention in the U.S. in December 2013. We began dating and then married in February 2014. She has a 10 year multiple entry visa and was given a 6 month B1/B2 visa upon entry. In May 2014 we filed the I-130 and I-485 before her 6 month visa expired. A few months later she went to our local office and had biometrics taken. We set an appointment 6 months ago to follow up with local office and we went and they said there is nothing we can do but wait. We would like to travel outside of the country for vacations but can't without advanced parole, and after speaking with an immigration attorney, he said even with advanced parole it is not a wise decision to leave the country with a pending AOS.

How much longer will she have to wait for the AOS to go through and receive her green card? Is there anything we can do to speed up the process? Call congressman? Write letters?

    Thanks! Duhgman

1 important fact you left out. on your "Notice of Action" AKA 797c form there is a priority date! Look to see what it is. After you ascertain the date go to the following link, its USCIS processing times.
As of July 31 these are the processing times from NBC AKA National Benefit Center, however your case would be sent to the nearest USCIS office.

View case status online using your receipt number, which can be found on notices that you may have received from USCIS. Also, sign up for Case Status Online to: .
