  • I-485 case transferred to another office_EB2_Nebaraska

    Hello everyone,

Last week I got notification from USCIS that my case has been transferred to another office. Still waiting to get the hardcopy of the notice and to know which office it has been transferred to. Same thing happened with my husband's case on the same date. I wanted to know, is anyone else waiting on i-485 approval got similar transfer notice?

Hello Maliva, the way this works is Nebraska AKA NBC is the clearinghouse for all applications, once its cleared its forwarded to your nearest location "Field Office" and further prcessing occurs.
    Good luck.

Thanks for ur reply Adrian. Does that mean the field office will schedule a interview? Doesn't Nebaraska office approve any i-485 application? My application is based on employment and i recently got married and included my spouse in my application as per my lawyer's advice. I have been waiting for approval almost five months now and not sure why they transferred my case now. Do you have any further idea why USCIS did this? And how long it might take to get approve?

Hello Maliva, sorry I missed the employment side of your I-485
Several forces are at work on your application, I assume you did not have your husband petition for you as immediate relative, so based on your 797c "Notice of Action" for your I-485 you will have a priority date at the top of your 797c? This will predicate when your app will be processed.
NBC Nebraska as of July 31 2016 is processing employment based apps from 02/02/2016
So if your PD is before that or on that date you are being processed.
