I cannot decide what to send - photocopy or transcript of tax return - in response to the Request for Initial Evidence (I-485). Would be grateful for any insight/clarification.
I accidentally left the Page 3, Part 4 of the form I-864 blank and now need to submit the Form I-864 again. I am asked to "provide copies of the petitioner/sponsor's most recent Federal Income tax returns and all supporting tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555 and tax schedules)." Does this mean they want to include a photocopy rather than transcript of the tax return?
My original application also contained an I-864A (a contract between a Sponsor and a Household Member) from my husband, and I am afraid that the officer dealing with our case mixed that form with a "I-864 from a joint sponsor". Now, we are asked to submit I-864 from a joint sponsor, and provide copies of the most recent tax returns plus all supporting documents, as well.
Submitting a transcript of our joint tax return seems like an easier option, but I am afraid that they want photocopies of our tax returns because they cannot figure out who is who on the I-864. Our tax return was filed jointly. Would be grateful for your advice.
