  • F1 student applying for AOS. Is I-20(s) required for I-765 as supporting document?

    Hi,

    Can anyone help me please?
My wife who is an F1 student visa and I just got married and we're working on the application for Adjustment of Status for her. We would like to file I-765 for Employment Authorization [category (C)(9)] with the AOS package so she can apply for a job while waiting for a green card. However, we've an issue about her I-20s since she's been in the US for about 10 years, has gone to many schools and colleges, and had lost many I-20 papers. My question is since she's applying for EAD through AOS, does she still need to submit all the I-20 in the past years as supporting documents?

Thank you in advance for all the answer.

She can contact the universities she went to and they will provide a copy of the I20s. Yes you do need to provide at least the latest I20 of the last school she attended. If not, then she has been out of status.

She's actually still going to school and has a current I-20 but we wonder if she need to submit all the others I-20s in the past years with the I-765 form as well?

No she needs to provide a copy of the current I20 she is on. And that will be sufficient.
