  • Any Houston filers????

    Hey guys!
So, the field office handling my case is NBC (my receipt number starts with MSC) but I'm not sure whether I should check the NBC processing time or the Houston processing time since I live in Houston? I checked Houston and as of 7/31/2016 they are still processing cases as of 11/2/2015 for I-485 applications. But then NBC didn't show any processing time for I-485... so I don't know. By the way, I have received my EAD on 7/23/2016. And the case status online says "As of July 28, 2016 we are ready to schedule for interview..." . Online status hasn't changed and I check online every single day like crazy. Any similar experience like mine out there? I'd really appreciate any input! Thank you in advance!

What is your priority date? Let me guess April 2016. If that's what it is, you still have a long way to go. You should be looking at next year for an interview. My priority date is December 2015 and I am still waiting for my interview date. Hopefully next month fingers crossed.

Priority date is actually May 3, 2016. So yeah I guess I may have to wait until next year for that interview. Correct me if I'm wrong... so the field office that handles the case is based on where you live? As I have mentioned in my original post, NBC is handling my case (as per case status online) but then I've been seeing posts here in ImmiHelp that the field office processing your case is the office closest to where you live? I'm quite confused. Thank you for replying to my post and I do hope you get your interview schedule very soon. By the way, let me just confirm..you're also a Houston filer, right?

So, the AOS cases (most)are mailed to and handled by the NBC at the very beginning; if you get a receipt starting on (MSC). After the NBC has done their work of proving you with the EAD and/or AP card, and going through your background check, they go and move your case to your local office for your interview. Therefore, like us (I'm filing from Houston), we have to wait for the Houston office to notify us of our interview date. A way to know that your case is now at the Houston office is after you get the status change of " your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview". And so like the person before me said, we will have to wait about 1 year to get our green card. I'm an April 25th, 2016 filer myself and my status says ready for interview as of 7/27/2016. I am still waiting on my AP (travel) card.

        Best wishes.

            Hi,

I'm in NJ. Seems you applied for your AP after EAD am I correct? I am thinking of doing the same.
I am waiting for my EAD but was a bit nervous about traveling with AP so didn't apply. Then I realized that a lot of people used it just fine, so I would apply.
