I-864 Sponsor's Income for Last Year

Hello everyone,

I am filing for Adjustment of Status. My sponsor's this year's income is over the poverty guideline, but was below last year. Does that matter? Should I look for a joint sponsor?

Hey there, I would get a joint sponsor to be sure, The thing is. This happened to me, I only used my wife as a sponsor but in which she was making more than the poverty guideline but her tax transcript showed differently. So when we mailed it (the I-485) out along with other documents. A month later they requested more evidence, and it is the same Affidavit of support that we mailed out too. Saying her income did not meet or exceeds the 125% level. So she then had to ask her brother who owns a company franchise (culvers) and was making quiet a great income to assist her in being a joint sponsor. So with that everything worked well.

To get a joint sponsor it may be your spouses brother, father, mother etc. They and your sponsor would have to fill out that entire form all over again and print copies of their taxes along with it. hope this helps!
