We already have a visa together for the U.K may this make it any easier/quicker?

My husband (U.S citizen) and I (British) have been married for 7 years and have full permanent marriage visa for the U.K for my husband (ILR).

Is this likely to speed up a green card application if we were already approved in another country? I know income etc have to be verified but as far a the marriage being 'real' - does it help to speed up?

Good morning Chub, sorry but the short answer is no, you will have to go through the 2 step process of filing. A factor to consider is that you are in a foreign country so you will have to do all filing at the American embassy. The concurrent process is your quickest way and it costs $2000 plus.
The first petition is the "Immediate Relative/Spouse" called the i_130 if you go the concurrent route you will also have to file for "Adjustment of Status" or AOS form I-485
You will need all your documetation including a Civil Surgeons report which is an additional expense. Also since you are filing in the UK you will have to go through NVC/National Visa Center
Since you are an immediate "Family Member" you get special consideration so you go to the head of the line and you won't have to wait for a visa #
