Hello everyone! Long story short:
My spouse and I are both here on L visas. My husband on L1-A, and I on an L2 as his spouse.
I am applying for AOS via my role with my employer in the US, and my spouse applied for AOS at the same time as my dependent. We've just filed for AOS and I expect the EAD/AP part to arrive very soon.
My question:
As soon as our EADs arrive, does that mean my spouse who is here on an L1 visa can leave his company/role and move from being on L1 status to pending i-485 status? That will mean his L1 status is forfeit, but is that possible since when L1 is forfeit, so too is L2 (my status). I think he can, and it simply means that both of us go from using L1 / L2 status to our Pending AOS / EAD status.
PS I can't find similar cases here as most folks on L1 / L2 seem to have the L1 visa holder as the principle AOS applicant and not the L2....but it just worked out that way for us.
