  • I485 / medical exam expired at interview / Houston

    Hi,
We had our interview on 10/21 - after 13 month waiting. The first thing he said was that my medical exam expired and I only need to update it. We got the approval notice for i130 (I believe that's the form) and the officer said it's all pretty straight forward at the interview.
They received my updated medical exam on 11/03 and online status states they are reviewing it.
Does anyone has experience how long it takes them after you re-submitted it?
I hope it's not another year till they get it done.
    Thanks

    Hi..
Please how did you get an updated medical exam? Did you have to go through the all process of paying another money for the medical exam or you took the receipt of the previous medical exam and they gave you an updated copy. Please tell me how you went about it. I am in the same situation. Thanks.

      hi,
I just went to the same doc and they had to do the entire process new. And I had to pay again the entire fee. Call the doc before and ask what is required on tests right now.
As you can not drop off the updated exam I had my lawyer sent it in via courier. They received it and now reviewing it since almost 2 weeks.
      Good luck

        Hello Chris,
I am in the same situation like you, had my interview for AOS on 11/10, the only thing IO said my medical exam was expired and only need to submit a new one. He said I will get in mail a RFE for that but haven't get anything after that, at the interview he gave us a paper which says our my case is under revision. I got approval notice a week ago for I-130.
I already have my new medical exam updated but not sure if I can send it by mail?? or I must wait for the RFE before send it?
I've got an info pass appointment for 12/05 so hopefully I can drop off it at the local USCIS office. Not sure if it's possible.

        Thanks

          Hello,
same situation but my interview was on 11/30/2016 and on 12/6/2016 they received my new medical exam.
          Any update on your case?
I am wondering too how long it could take to finally have the i485 approved.

How long is the wait after resubmitting medical expired exam?

            Hello friends:

We have been waiting for our number to become current for 2 years (marriage to a permanent resident). Finally it became current in November. However, our interview was scheduled for December. When we came to the interview, an officer told us that she would have approved the I 485 on a spot but the medical exam expired just 5 days. She issued notice of intend to deny (NOID) till we bring the new medical. If the interview were in Nov, everything would be fine and our medical would be still valid.

She said as soon as we bring it, she would issue us a temporary green card. However, the new medical results were ready only a week after the interview. Now they require a new tuberculosis test and it takes a week to get results. So a week after the interview, we brought the officer a new medical. She said she would take a look at it. We called her three time after that and reminded her that she promissed to approve the green card the same day we would bring the new medical. She told us that if we brought the new medical the same day of the interview, she would have approved i 485 right away. Now we have to wait. We asked how long - she said she would not know.

This is so frustrating. This is Durham/Raleigh office. We really need the green card since I am entering the job market after graduating in a few weeks

Do you know how long will be the wait? What are the rules? Will we have a new interview? The fingerprints are expiring tin 2 weeks as well. Do we have to do a new finger prints???

            Thank you!

Waiting for I-485 after re-submitting medical exams

              Hello,

I am in the same process, i know this is an old threat but was wondering how long it took for them to approve the exams, i dropped mine almost 3 weeks ago and i have not gotten any update whatsoever, nit even saying they are reviewing it. My EAD card expires in 2 weeks and I'm getting anxious. I already submitted a new I-765 this week, and also asked to have my I-485 expedited last week, but they are asking for proof that I will hopefully sent today 03/06/2018 with a termination letter from my employeer.

Just wondering timelines, and maybe I will be fine in 1 -2 weeks?

              Thanks!

Hey! This has recently happened to us.
                    Have you heard back yet?

We had our interview last month and the immigration officer said that he is going to approve us/ everything went well. But he said that my medical exam expired so I needed a new one..
I had to get another exam and pay for it all over again so did that as soon as I could.
I sent the sealed envelope last Monday and now am just waiting to hear back from them.

So ready for this all to be done with! Hoping it's soon.

                    Best of luck!
